PETA Pledge: Day 3

Go Vegan in 2011
Go Vegan in 2011

Day 3

Okay, I am sorry to all the vegans out there, but I broke my pledge.  I was making a music video last night in this mall, and I got pretty hungry.  The only place that was open besides McDonald’s was this Asian grocery shop which had a hot food section.  I wanted some fried rice, not realizing that there would be pork and eggs in it, but the lady behind the counter serving me the food told me I had to pick an additional three items.  I got lo-mein noodles, some sort of pancake looking thing, and chicken.  I was so caught up in the moment, that I forgot all about the pledge that I had taken.  When I was almost finished eating, I realized that I had just ate pork fried rice and chicken.  Well, I couldn’t even make it past three days without eating meat.  I will most likely take this pledge sometime in the near future, possibly next month, and tattoo a phrase on my hands saying, “Do Not Eat Meat.”

Subscribe to my blog if you want to follow me on my 30-day journey in becoming a vegan.  After 30-days I am not sure whether or not I will stay a vegan because I love hamburgers.

PETA Pledge: Day 2

Go Vegan in 2011
Go Vegan in 2011

Day 2

Today was the second day that I am not eating any meat.  I almost ruined it at dinner time by eating meat, but you will just have to read this post in order to see exactly what I did (or you can scroll down to the end and read it, but why do that?  I am writing this nice post and you have to skip it all?!)  So, if you are still reading this, thank you.  Alright, let me just cut to the chase.  I woke up early again today in hopes of getting a hair cut, but that plan didn’t work out.  For breakfast, I had chocolate chip pancakes again with butter and syrup.  I had a nice chilled glass of that good ‘ol Tropicana Orange Juice.  For lunch, I had nothing.  Simply because i woke up at 12:30, yes that’s early for me, and I had “breakfast” at around 1:30.  I had work at 5, so by 8 I was done because it was so slow today at work.  For dinner, since I work in a pizzeria/restaurant, I had a personal (12″) wood-oven baked margherita pie with eggplant and some olive oil for some extra flavor.  However, when I ordered my pie, I had asked for pepperoni, not realizing that pepperoni was meat.  Luckily for me though, the chef didn’t start making my pie so I had time to tell him to substitute the pepperoni for eggplant.  The pie turned out great, and I am still following my pledge, I have not eaten a single piece of meat for at least 2 days now.

PETA Pledge: Day 1

Go Vegan in 2011
Go Vegan in 2011

Alright, so yesterday I took this pledge on the site PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) and the pledge was that for 30 days I will eat no meat.   I will become a vegan.  I am going to post updates everyday, through blogs and vlogs about my progress.  I will post what I ate during the course of the day, and how I am feeling.  My first post for this pledge is below, wish me luck guys.

Day 1:

So I woke up at 12:30pm, I set my alarm on my phone to that time because I wanted to get a hair cut to go out tonight.  However, when I called the barbershop no one answered.  I called a few more time after that and still no answer, so I figured that they were closed.  My mom had just put together a batch for pancakes, so for breakfast I had a few pancakes.  For lunch, I had some baked pasta with a marinara sauce, and some smoked mozzarella.  For dinner I had Nissen Ramen Noodles.  It’s going good so far, I am not feeling “empty” or anything, I am used to eating primarily just pasta considering my family is Italian and that is probably the most eaten food on my list for my entire life.  So, what did I have to drink today?  Well I had orange juice for breakfast, water and a Red Bull for lunch, and more water for dinner.
